The Chief Executive Meets with Indian Ambassador in Kabul

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan today met with Mr. Manpreet Vohra, Ambassador of India in Kabul and spoke about important issues of Afghanistan, region and the world.

Insecurity and its consequences in Afghanistan and in the region, emphasis on regional and international support for the Afghan government and people, providing grounds for growth and development, development of infrastructure projects and creating jobs opportunities were the main issues discussed at the meeting.

Stating that Indian people and government stood faithfully alongside the Afghan people during the last years and supported them, Dr. Abdullah added that supporting the Afghan government and people is meant peace and stability in the region and in the world.

The Chief Executive said’ “The only way to deal with extremists in the region is regional countries’ cooperation to suppress terrorist.” He also added that terrorism is a global phenomenon and to deal with it, cooperation of international community is needed.

Meanwhile, Indian ambassador, expressing his gratitude for the courage of the Afghan security forces and patience of the Afghan people against extremists and terrorists, emphasized on his country’s support for the Afghan government and people.

He also appreciated tireless efforts of leadership of the National Unity Government especially the Chief Executive to create a strong and sustainable coordination among regional countries to fight terrorism.
