Problems of Afghan Refugees Residing in Iran Will be Solved

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in a meeting investigated problems of the Afghan refugees in Iran.

At this meeting which was held on Sunday, May 7 at the Sapidar palace, Minister of Refugees and Returnees, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister of Justice, head of office for electronic ID cards and representatives of Afghan refugees in Iran attended and discussed on problems of Afghan refugees.

First, Dr. Abdullah said he had reached an agreement with the President that refugees’ handwritten passports should be exchanged with electronic ones and process of its distribution should be begun soon.

Dr. Abdullah directed the officials to consider a discount of 20% and 50% in the cost of electronic passports for Afghan refugees.

Meanwhile, problems of Afghan applicants for Hajj pilgrims and the solutions were reviewed at the meeting.

This meeting was arranged following the Chief Executive’s meeting with representatives of the Afghan refugees residing in Iran a few days ago.

Representatives of the Afghan refugees, during a meeting with the Chief Executive reminded their problems and called for solving them.
