The Chief Executive meets with UN Special Representative

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan today met with Tadamichi Yamamoto UN Secretary General's Special Representative in Kabul, and discussed on readiness for holding upcoming elections.

The Chief Executive said that the National Unity Government is getting prepared for holding parliamentary and district council elections; so it needs international community's cooperation in this regard.

Dr. Abdullah added to ensure transparency of the elections, the government is going to make use of new technology in parliamentary and district council elections.

Mr. Yamamoto announced of the international community’s readiness to cooperate with Afghanistan in the field of election.

He emphasized that international community is committed specifically to joint cooperation in financial and technical aspects of elections.

Mr. Yamamoto also announced of preparations for holding a regional and global conference on Afghanistan.
