The Chief Executive Appreciated Security Forces’ Achievements in Badakhshan

HE Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan went to Badakhshan to recognize achievements, struggles and heroism of security forces against domestic and international terrorists.

The Chief Executive, while visiting Zebak District, thanked soldiers and officers of security forces for their sacrifices and said leaders of the government would appreciate their efforts for defending the country and ensuring people’s security.

Dr. Abdullah stressed on importance of Badakhshan clearance from foreign and domestic terrorists and said in recent operations done by our security forces, heavy casualties have been posed on terrorist groups. The Chief Executive praised security authorities’ timely action to reclaim Zebak District.

During this visit, the Chief Executive officially opened construction of transit highway of baharak - Ishkashim at a length 108 km and at a cost of $ 98 million which will be extended to border of Tajikistan.

Dr. Abdullah, at the extraordinary meetings in Faizabad, reviewed problems and challenges of local institutions and people of Badakhshan and issued necessary directions to solve them.

In this visit, the Chief Executive was accompanied by Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Public Welfare, Public Health, Rural Development, Water and Energy, Tourism, Acting Director of Local Governance, Army Chief of Staff, Deputy Security Chief, Deputy State Minister for Disaster Management, Deputy General Directorate of National Security, head of Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, a number of Badakhshan MPs and spokesperson of the Chief Executive.
