The Chief Executive met with the newly appointed British Ambassador to Kabul

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with Nicholas Kay, the newly appointed ambassador of UK to Afghanistan in his office at the Sepidar Palace.

At the meeting, the Chief Executive congratulated Mr. Kay as the British Ambassador to Afghanistan and wished him success in his new role. The Chief Executive expressed hope that relations between the two countries, in the course of Mr. Kay's service in Afghanistan, would be further developed and expanded.

At the meeting, the chief executive appreciated presence and assistance of UK to Afghanistan, and stressed that the two countries will jointly fight against terrorism, while preserving achievements of previous years.

Mr. Kay thanked the Chief Executive and conveyed compliments of the UK Prime Minister and other officials of his country to the Chief Executive, and emphasized on the importance of bilateral cooperation between the two countries. Mr. Kay expressed hope that during his service in Afghanistan, he would be able to contribute to consolidation of peace and stability and the further development of relations between the two countries. At the meeting, the British Ambassador also expressed his country’s support for the new US strategy.
