The Chief Executive Meets with the Minister of Defense and Space Industry of Kazakhstan

His Excellency, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan today met with Mr. Beibut Atamkulov, Minister of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

At the meeting, the Chief Executive welcomed Mr. Atamkulov, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and called Kazakhstan “a friend and brother country of Afghanistan". In his speech, the Chief Executive added relations between the two countries are friendly and intimate, and these relations have improved and strengthened during the work of the National Unity Government.

The Chief Executive spoke on joint threats against both countries as well as the region, and emphasized on the defense and security cooperation between the two countries to harness these challenges.

The Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan thanked the Chief Executive and warm welcome of the government and the people of Afghanistan and called his visit to Kabul full of achievements, and reported on his intensive discussions with the Ministry of Defense, the Interior and other government authorities of Afghanistan.

Mr. Atamkulov explained that he has talked with the Afghan side on trade facilitation, joint cooperation on energy, extension and construction of railroads and military-security cooperation, and that his country is ready to work with Afghanistan in these areas.

Mr. Atamkulov also expressed his willingness to sign cooperation agreements with Afghanistan in the field of military, space shooting and cyber security. He also emphasized that his country continues to provide scholarship to Afghan students in Kazakhstan, and is ready to train civilian and military personnel in Afghanistan.

Mr. Atamkulov also declared of his country's two million dollars humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.

Mr. Atamkulov said that the Afghan armed forces are in the first line of the fight against terrorism, defending all Central Asian republics and we are ready to support you and your armed forces.

The Chief Executive appreciated Kazakhstan's cooperation with Afghanistan and stressed on the continuation of this cooperation and joint struggle with terrorism for ensuring peace and settlement in the region.
