The Meeting of the Committee for Children’s Rehabilitation Centers was Held under the Chairmanship of the Chief Executive

The meeting of the Committee for Children’s Rehabilitation Centers was held today under the chairmanship of Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

Vocational training for children and ensuring security of Children’s Rehabilitation Centers and other major issues were discussed at the meeting.

The officials talked about shortage of police personnel to ensure security of Children's Rehabilitation Center in Kabul and urged the Chief Executive to pay attention to the issue.

Dr. Abdullah directed Ministry of the Interior to take practical and serious action on providing security of Children’s Rehabilitation Center in Kabul and in a number of vulnerable provinces.

The Chief Executive also directed security officials to cooperate with the Ministry of Justice and Children’s Rehabilitation Centers on transferring disabled children from one province into another province.

Security fortifications of Children’s Rehabilitation Center in Panjshir was discussed and noted that the land was being considered for the building and the past problems have also been resolved.

The officials spoke on providing vocational training to children in Children’s Rehabilitation Centers of seventeen provinces and said they are also trying to provide vocational training with children in other provinces.

The Chief Executive reminded of the progress in vocational training in Children's Rehabilitation Centers, but added these improvements are not enough.

In another part of the meeting, shortage of teachers in these centers was mentioned as a challenge. The Chief Executive directed the Ministry of Education to provide the ground for recruiting teachers for these centers.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that special primary and appeal court for children in the provinces should be established. Dr. Abdullah said that he would raise the issue at the Supreme Council for the Rule of Law to decide on that.
