The Chief Executive Meets with World Bank’s Country Director for Afghanistan

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan today met with Mr. Shubham Chaudhuri, Director of the World Bank in Afghanistan in his office at the Sepidar Palace.

In this meeting, the World Bank's Director in Afghanistan noted of his cooperation with the Executive Committee for Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons as well as Executive Committee for Private Sector Development, which work in the framework of the Office of the Chief Executive.

He called establishment of 10 Executive Committees in the framework of the Office of the Chief Executive as a valuable and effective step in the delivery of public services and improvement of government performance, and stressed on continuing their cooperation in these areas.

Further, Dr. Abdullah appreciated the World Bank's extensive contributions and cooperation with the Afghan government and people, emphasizing on the continuation of its cooperation in specific sectors.

The Chief Executive said the National Unity Government has taken measures for economic development and investment growth, but needs the World Bank and other international organizations’ cooperation and contribution to help implement future policies and plans.
