The Chief Executive Met with President of the World Chess Federation

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with Kirsan Ilyumzhinov President of the World Chess Federation and his accompanying delegation in his office at the Sepidar Palace.

At the meeting, the Chief Executive welcomed Mr. Ilyumzhinov, President of the World Chess Federation to Afghanistan and thanked him for his efforts in development and globalization of the chess.

At the meeting, Mr. Ilyumzhinov appreciated the warm welcome of the Afghan government and explained his plans for development and popularization of the chess in Afghanistan in partnership with the Afghan Chess Federation and the Olympic Committee, preparing the ground for technical training of chess players and other members of the Federation in Russia, Afghanistan’s participation in World Games, hosting Asian Games by Afghanistan and opening chess clubs in different parts of the country.

The Chief Executive, welcoming Mr. Ilyumzhinov’s plans, directed the relevant organizations to cooperate with the World Chess Federation to implement the plans and programs of the Federation and thanked Mr. Ilyumzhinov for his interest in these plans.
