A New Page has been Opened in Relations between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan

The Chief Executive of the country met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Uzbekistan

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with Abdul aziz Komilov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Uzbekistan and his accompanying delegation in his office at the Sepidar Palace.

At the meeting, the Chief Executive welcomed Mr. Komilov to Afghanistan and also welcomed expansion and development of relations between the two countries and signing new agreements and memoranda between the two countries during the Afghan President’s visit to Uzbekistan. The Chief Executive of the country, calling Uzbekistan a friend and brother country with a long history, asked for development and expansion of relations between the two countries in economic, security and cultural areas.

Foreign Minister of Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Komilov, appreciating the Afghan government for its warm welcome, noted of opening a new page in relations between the two countries and expressed hope that relations will be strengthened and expanded. Mr. Komilov said that his country is ready to invest in infrastructure in Afghanistan and expand its trade and economic relations with Afghanistan.
