The Chief Executive Met with British Ambassador to Kabul

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with British Ambassador Nicholas Kay in Kabul.

At the meeting, recent visit of UN Security Council was reviewed and the British ambassador, Mr. Kay congratulated their successful visit and hosting of the Afghan government.

The British ambassador also congratulated selection of the new member of Independent Election Commission (IEC) and expressed hope that completion of members of the Election Commission would expedite the electoral process.

Following Mr. Kay's recent visit to Pakistan, Afghanistan-Pakistan relations were also discussed in detail at the meeting.

Both sides expressed interest that the two countries, taking advantage of the current situation, take honest and firm steps towards joint cooperation in combatting terrorism and the terrorists’ sanctuaries.
