The Chief Executive: We Are Committed to Supporting Media and Freedom of Expression

The Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah met today with UN Special Representative Tadamichi Yamamoto in Kabul.

The UN Special Representative expressed sympathy with the Chief Executive and the Afghan people in connection with the terrorist attacks in Kabul and other provinces of Afghanistan.

Condemning terrorist attacks, Mr. Yamamoto said that killing civilians and innocent people has no justification.

Dr. Abdullah thanked the United Nations representative for his sympathy and said the National Unity Government is committed to supporting journalists and the media and to protecting freedom of expression.

The two sides also discussed on voter registration process and holding parliamentary elections.
