The Chief Executive: We Support a Fair and Transparent Election

The Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah met with John Bass, US ambassador in Afghanistan at the Sepidar Palace.

The United States ambassador, condemning the suicide attack on the media, expressed his condolences and sympathy to the Chief Executive and the Afghan people for the attacks in Kabul and Kandahar.

Mr. Bass expressed his satisfaction with the voter registration process and announced his country’s support for this process. Then he said that holding a fair and transparent election would guarantee security and stability in Afghanistan.

Thanking the US ambassador, the Chief Executive, condemning the recent terrorist attacks, announced the government's new actions and decisions taken at the meeting of the National Security Council to secure journalists and people. The Chief Executive called attack on the media a criminal act that is contrary to all Islamic and human rules.

The latest political and security situation of the country were also discussed at the meeting.
