The Chief Executive met with Alice Wells US Deputy Secretary of State

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with Alice Wells, Acting Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs at the Sepidar Palace.

The Chief Executive, welcoming Ms. Wells to Kabul, presented a clear picture of political-military situation in Afghanistan, and shared the government's steps towards peace with Ms. Wells.

Ms. Wells, declaring her country's support for Afghanistan, announced support for the efforts made by the National Unity Government to achieve peace and expressed hope that joint efforts would pave the way for establishment of peace in Afghanistan and in the region.

The meeting also focused on bilateral and joint cooperation between Afghanistan and the United States, Afghanistan's regional relations and its relations with Pakistan, effective steps to combat terrorism, holding fair and valid elections, and the ways to develop regional trade and regional cooperation.
