NATO is Committed to a Long-Term Military Cooperation with Afghanistan

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met today with General Riccardo Marchiò, Commander of Allied Joint Force Command in Netherlands, at the Sepidar Palace.

The Chief Executive, welcoming Gen. Marchio, thanked NATO forces for active participation in Afghanistan in the fight against terrorism and reinforcement of the Afghan armed forces.

Expressing satisfaction with progress and development of the Afghan armed forces, Gen. Marchio assured of NATO’s long-term military support from the Afghan armed forces. Gen. Marchio also said that NATO does not hesitate any efforts to strengthen capabilities of the Afghan armed forces and provide the necessary assistance with them in the front line of fighting against terrorism.

Also, the latest military developments in the country, effective ways of combating terrorism and global and regional cooperation to eradicate terrorism were discussed at the meeting.
