The Chief Executive Meets with Tajikistan’s President

Security of Afghanistan is the Security of Tajikistan

HE, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, on the sideline of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit, met with Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The Tajik President welcomed the Chief Executive to Tajikistan, attending the 17th Meeting of SCO Head of Governments. The Tajik president further added that his country attaches great importance to enhancing relations with Afghanistan as a friend and neighbor. Emomali Rahmon further reiterated that his country was following the situation in Afghanistan and considered security and peace in Tajikistan and in the region dependent on security and peace in Afghanistan.

Thanking Emomali Rahmon for his warm welcome, the Chief Executive called Tajikistan one of the strategic friends and allies of Afghanistan and appreciated Tajikistan’s hosting the 17th Meeting of SCO Head of Governments.

The two sides discussed security, counter terrorism, drug trafficking, regional cooperation and integration, Afghanistan’s regional relations, boosting trade exchanges and attracting regional countries’ cooperation for ensuring peace led and owned by the Afghan people.
