The Chief Executive Meets with Indian Minister of External Affairs

HE, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, on the sideline of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit, met with Ms. Sushma Swaraj, Minister of External Affairs of India, in his residence in Dushanbe.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and cooperation between India and Afghanistan, holding elections, Afghanistan's regional relations, combating terrorism and expanding trade exchanges.

The Indian Minister of External Affairs spoke on increasing her country's development assistance to Afghanistan, saying that New Delhi will stand alongside Afghanistan in fighting terrorism.

Ms. Sushma Swaraj added that India and Afghanistan had common concerns in the region.

Then, the Chief Executive appreciated India's cooperation with the government and the people of Afghanistan, and called for strengthening and continuity of cooperation between the two countries.
