The Chief Executive: We are Committed to Holding a Transparent, Free and Fair Election

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan today met with Mr. John Bass, U.S Ambassador at the Sepidar Palace.

At the meeting, the two sides spoke about holding parliamentary election, transparency and public participation in the election, the latest security developments as well as assistance to the drought affected.

The Chief Executive thanked and appreciated contributions and presence of the United States, saying that the National Unity Government is committed to holding a transparent, credible, and widespread election. The Chief Executive also expressed hope that the Afghan people would participate widely in the election on Saturday.
