People's Widespread Participation in Parliamentary Election is a Punch on the Taliban and Terrorists

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with EU Ambassador to Afghanistan, Pierre Mayaudon in his office at the Sepidar Palace.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed parliamentary election, participation of millions of people in the election as well as Geneva Conference on Afghanistan.

Mr. Mayaudon congratulated the Chief Executive on holding successful parliamentary election and people’s participation in the election and assured of continuation of EU's cooperation with Afghanistan. Mr. Mayaudon expressed hope that the relevant bodies, on one hand, should provide the citizens with voting rights and, on the other hand, address citizens and candidates’ complaints.

Appreciating the active role of EU and its contribution to the election, the Chief Executive called people's attendance and participation in the parliamentary election a punch on the Taliban and terrorists.

The Chief Executive called people's participation in election as an indication of people's support for democracy and the right to determine their fate, and stressed that people and candidates’ complaints have to be addressed and necessary lessons should be taken from this election in order to make hold the next election better.

Preparation for Geneva Conference on Afghanistan was also discussed at the meeting.
