India's Minister of State for External Affairs, in a Meeting with the Chief Executive: India Supports Peace Talks Led and Owned by Afghans

The Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah met with Dr. VK Singh, Indian Minister of State for External Affairs.

At this meeting, the Chief Executive appreciated cooperation and continued presence of India in Afghanistan and added, "India has supported Afghanistan in difficult circumstances and at different stages, and relations between the two countries are based on firm principles."

Mr. Singh called Afghanistan one of the India’s close friends and allies and reassured India's continued presence in Afghanistan. At the meeting, both sides discussed Geneva conference, bilateral relations, security and political developments, elections as well as peace talks. Mr. Singh reiterated that his country would support the Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace talks.
