Chief Executive at the meeting with Turkish President: Turkey continues to offer its full support to Afghanistan

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, the Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, met with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Turkey, on the sidelines of the 5th Summit of heads of states and governments on Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Dushanbe-Tajikistan on Saturday afternoon (15 June, 2019).

During the meeting, the Chief Executive expressed his gratitude and thanked HE Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Turkey for his continued assistance and special attention to Afghanistan. Chief executive called Turkey a strategic ally, long-standing and historic friend of Afghanistan. The Chief Executive asked for the continuation of Turkey's presence and assistance to Afghanistan.

The Turkish President called Afghanistan a close friend and ally of Turkey and assured the continuation of his country’s full and comprehensive support to Afghanistan.

During the meeting, the two sides also discussed the struggles against terrorism, peace talks and presidential election in Afghanistan.
