Chief Executive Abdullah: We protect and defend the clean votes of the people

 

Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah held a meeting with Sir Nicholas Kay, NATO Senior Civilian Representative in Afghanistan, at his office in Sepedar Palace.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the presidential election, how votes were counted, and how the IEC functioned.

Ambassador Kay said that the votes of Afghan citizens who participated in the elections should be counted in a transparent manner and marked that the commissions are working in this regard”. He also added that they only support a transparent and credible process.

Chief Executive Abdullah emphasized on the transparency of the election process, acknowledging the Afghan allies' contribution to elections, reiterating the obligation of the government to protect and defend the clean votes of the people.
