Chief Executive Meets State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development


Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah Met with Mr. Martin Jäger, State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, while Mr. Markus Potzel, the German Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, and German Ambassador to Kabul were accompanying him, Sunday afternoon, at Sapedar Palace in Kabul.

Mr. Jäger said that his country is committed to its commitment to cooperate and assist Afghanistan in various sectors. He also outlined the amount of German aid to Afghanistan this year and the next.

The German special envoy spoke about peace and elections. He called peace to be one of the priorities of the international community and expressed hope that efforts to achieve peace would succeed.

He congratulated the Chief Executive on holding the elections and emphasized the transparency of the election by supporting the use of technology. He added that his country is in favor of transparency of the elections in Afghanistan.

The Chief Executive appreciated German’s assistance and sacrifices for Afghanistan while thanking Germany for the newly announced assistance to Afghanistan and asked for continued cooperation between the two countries.

Chief Executive Abdullah also referred peace as one of the priorities of the Afghan people and praised the efforts of the international community to bring about peace.

"We are waiting for the announcement of the results by the Independent Election Commissions and we are monitoring the work of these institutions to emphasize the principle of transparency in the elections," said Chief Executive Abdullah.
