Chief Executive Meets U.S. Special Envoy for Afghanistan Reconciliation

 

Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah held a meeting with Amb. Zalmay Khalilzad, U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation, while Deputy Assistant to U.S. president Ms. Lisa Curtis and U.S. Ambassador John Bass were accompanying him, at Sapedar Palace in Kabul.

At the meeting, Mr. Khalilzad shared the results of his talks and recent meetings with various parties on efforts to achieve lasting peace in Afghanistan with the Chief Executive.

Chief Executive Abdullah appreciated the United States' efforts to achieve a lasting and just peace in Afghanistan, recognizing peace as a priority for the Afghan government and people, and expressed his readiness to bring about peace at any stage.
