Chief Executive Meets With the New Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Afghanistan

Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah met with Mr. Wang Yu, the newly-appointed ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Afghanistan, at Sapedar Palace.

Chief Executive Abdullah congratulated Mr. Yu on his appointment as the new ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Afghanistan, and called China a close friend and ally of Afghanistan. The Chief Executive also thanked the Chinese people for their assistance in Afghanistan. He wished success to the Ambassador Yu and hoped that the relations between the two countries would be strengthened during his mission.

Ambassador Yu appreciated the warm welcome of the Afghan government and described the relations between the two countries as historic, good, and based on common values and interests. He further said that China wants peace and stability in Afghanistan and will continue to work with it. Mr. Yu also expressed hope that he could play an effective role in strengthening and expanding relations between the two countries during his mission in Afghanistan.

At the end, the two sides continued to discuss peace and the presidential election.
