Chief Executive in Meeting with UN Representative: “The attack on a UN motor vehicle is being investigated”

Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah met with Mr. Tadamichi Yamamoto, the UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Afghanistan, at Sapedar Palace in Kabul.

Chief Executive Abdullah expressed his condolences to Mr. Yamamoto for the attack on a UN vehicle and the killing of a UNDP official. Condemning the attack, the Chief Executive promised that the Afghan government would investigate the case thoroughly and that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.

Mr. Yamamoto thanked the Chief Executive and the government of Afghanistan for the comprehensive investigation and condemned the attack on UN personnel serving the Afghan people.

The two sides also discussed the presidential election and the progressions of addressing the concerns of the electoral teams.
