Chief Executive and Leadership of the Stability and Partnership Team Meet the U.S. Special Representative for Afghan Reconciliation

 

Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah met with Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad, U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation and his accompanying delegation at his office in Sapedar palace.

During the meeting, the US Special Representative briefed the Chief Executive and the Stability and Partnership Team on the latest round of peace talks in Doha and his trip to Islamabad.

The Chief Executive said peace is the top priority and demand of the majority of the Afghan people, and we hope that the ongoing negotiations will lead to the end of violence and war.

Leadership of the Stability and Partnership team shared their views and suggestions on ongoing peace talks with the US special representative, and emphasized the principle of plummeting violence and moving to a cease-fire to achieve lasting peace.

Dr. Zalmay Khalilzad expressed hope that the new round of negotiations would lead to a reduction in violence and the start for inter-Afghan talks.
