NATO Continues Its Military Presence and Cooperation with Afghanistan


Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah Wednesday afternoon met with H.E. Sir Nicholas Kay, NATO’s Senior Civilian Representative to Afghanistan at Sapedar Palace in Kabul.

Ambassador Kay briefed the Chief Executive on his recent visit to the NATO headquarters in Brussels. He added that members of the NATO emphasized that they would continue their military presence and cooperation for Afghanistan until peace and stability is established in the country and that the Organization also supports US-led peace efforts.

Chief Executive Abdullah appreciated Mr. Nicholas Key's efforts and the renewed commitment of NATO to support Afghanistan.

The two sides also discussed peace talks and the process of adjudicating electoral complaints.
