The Chief Executive: Canada's Efforts for Security Forces are Appreciable (Mar 15, 2017)

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan today met with Canadian Ambassador and CEO Michael Burns of Invictus Games.

At the meeting, Michael Burns said Canada would host the third Invictus Games Toronto 2017.

He added that in addition to Afghanistan, wounded warriors from 17 nations would be invited to compete. Participants are those military wounded, injured and ill active duty and veteran service members who had missions in Afghanistan.

Expressing appreciation for the efforts of Canada, Dr. Abdullah said that the launching this tournament for appreciating brave and courageous soldiers of Afghanistan is a good action.

The Chief Executive stated that the National Unity Government supports the program and directs security agencies to take fundamental measures to make a capable team to participate in these competitions.

Dr. Abdullah stressed that the security forces are seriously fighting for defense of territorial integrity and security of the Afghan people. Such incentive programs for appreciation of their performances are appreciable.
